About Camille

Camille Bennett-Campbell is the Principal Consultant of Bennett-Campbell Law (BCL). Hardworking, detailed-oriented, humble, patient and passionate, are only some of the attributes that would best describe Camille Bennett-Campbell’s attitude to her life and by extension her work in the law. Camille brings her almost 25 years of experience as a practicing Attorney-at-Law to BCL, as she was called to the Bar in Jamaica in 1999. She possesses a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with Honours from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus as well as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) with Honours in English from the University of the West Indies, (Mona) and a LLM in Law and Employment Relations (with Merit) from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom in 2007.

She has garnered experience in several areas of law throughout the years including: administration of estates, contract law including construction contracts, commercial and residential leases and conveyancing law. However, while she practices in these areas of law her primary areas of focus and interest are in the fields of labour and employment law, disabilities law and occupational safety and health law. Her interest and expertise in these areas blossomed during her almost 13 years tenure at the Ministry of Labour and Social Security (MLSS) Jamaica. At the MLSS, she served as Senior Legal Officer from 2009 to 2013, Director of Legal Services (Acting) in 2014 and she was thereafter appointed as the second appointed Director in the history of the MLSS. She served in this position until July 2022 when she joined the private sector in the capacity as Consultant to Employment Matters Caribbean and Karene N. Stanley & Co where she has been able to gain private sector experience in all her areas of practice.

There is a special place in her heart for the elderly and the disabled because of situations she has experienced with her parents and other family members. Camille puts this personal exposure to good use by empathetically assisting senior citizens and the disabled with their legal needs which includes: the preparation of wills, powers of attorney, and caregiver contracts and providing advice in relation to employment issues affecting these vulnerable groups. Camille is “Called to Serve” and looks forward to using her expertise and skills to manage your matters.
